India themed bed room!? ok i want to transform my bedroom into one that would look...
ok i want to transform my bedroom into one that would look like a room of an indian (like from india not native american) palace or something! does anyone own any ideas or websites good for this subject matter??
A great notion! You can pick up a luxurious duvet or bedding set and any of the home stores like Linen's 'n Things, Bed, Bath & Beyond. They have Indian inspired bedding. Most of thm hv a lots of thaw out colors like oranges, reds, and browns. You can dress the windows surrounded by coordinating colors. Again the same stores carry tab top curtains. Use a great deal of sequined and embroidered pillows on the bed. Any Indian stores in yr neighbourhood would fetch Indian sari's, which could also be used to decorate the windows. Twist it around the curtain rod contained by a swag style and let it hang down on the sides. Use a pallid thin fabric for the drapes. A go well together rug and some handicraft items or wallhangings would complete the look. The accessories are available at Pier 1 Import stores or from their website. Hope it turns out great! OMG, I love that theme, first i would definitly enjoy a canipy! And use a lot of the colors red, orange, brown, and scarlet! Plus you should take lots of pillow with sequince! Make sure to have curtains!! In India the National animal is the Tiger, I would definitly tie that within there! Make the room very calm! Also in India They wear sari's which is a long piece of clothes covered in down ornaments! Oh and you sould also put in some of those things that hang down within the doorway!!

you will need lots of bright contrasting colours and plentyful embroidery / sequins / bead.
paint your walls primrose yellow or another mellow kind of pallid (this will go very resourcefully with the accessories which should be night and bright combination)
use saffron / scarlet bedsheet with sequins
have a wooden box close by the foot of the bed with golden desings
buy wooden elephants / camels or even fabric ones and place them on your dressing table.
own a ornate mirror with indian temple type carving.
prettify walls with bright paintings of god and goddesses. or indian dance painting look great too
the best place to shop for these items is India !! but i have seen some obedient stuff in some indian shops in leicester.
get wooden flooring done,, it will look awesum
If at all you come to India.you can pick up some good interior flounce stuff from here.you could possibly choose rajasthani products like wall hangings...teracotta dolls would look very dutiful.you can also replace your usual flower-vase with teracotta..you can also hang tanjore painting or Raja Ravi Verma paintings as well oh i so want to do that too! moral question..star for you :) there used to be a store call bombay where they sold luxurious fabrics and wooden boxes and indian-ish looking things, but i chew over it doesn't exist anymore :(
