Answers: Well the generous piece in commercial use have only one dominance...Labor Cost go down and since labor cost is 2 times better then bits and pieces, it is cheaper to use larger pieces....Also in commercial job when tiling a bathroom floor most people don't realize that a rubber blatter is installed below the tile which prevents leak, What you want is your bathroom should be your choose alone...there are ways o prevent hose leakage...the tile & grout is solely the first defense against this...You also have the underlayment, usually a concrete board product, hermetically sealed at all seam and the edges...there is also the blatter that can be used (a paint on rubber sealent or the tricky rubber blatter and is some cases even using plastic barrier lower than the underlayment...hope this helps
