I'm transcribing crude footage of a home advance program--I requirement to know what this is call please!? They appear to be building a framework for a wall or something....
They appear to be building a framework for a wall or something. They are setting two by sixes within a huge rectangular frame--as they do so, they're nailing some sort of bracket at the combined where the two by six join the frame on either side, and at both ends. The carpenter mentions have to "crown this piece first". Can anyone please tell me if there's a more specific designation for these brackets they're putting in? I'd freshly like to nouns like I know what I'm chitchat about when I describe this footage. Thanks! ;-)
Answers: Without seeing the bracket, I would envision it's a joist hanger. It could also be a hurricane strap. Or an L-bracket. Wow, there are profoundly. Can you post a picture?
go to www.strongtie.com it is a builders hardware website. you can find the bracket they be using along with the proper pet name.
