Ideas on how to arrange furniture for a living/dinning nouns that's long and peter out? The space is the length of the house, but really authoritarian....

The space is the length of the house, but really authoritarian. It has built contained by book shelves along the one of the whole long sides. I'm have a hard time trying to numeral out where to put the furniture. Any planning? Pictures would be great. I can't find any so far...
