Ideas for spicing up a plain black picture frame?? I thought I'd get a dear friend of mine a framed motivational...

I thought I'd get a dear friend of mine a framed motivational quote that fits his personality; turns out that after looking for weeks I couldn't find any, so have to settle for printing one out myself.. it is very small & a short quote so as to not take up much room on his department desk... well the only frame I could find the correct size is a plain old-fashioned wood black one. I really wanted this to be special but I feel it'll give the impression of being thrown together & cheap. crafters please lend your ideas! Thanks

It doesn't have to be black-you can pint it using a color to meeting his office decor. Just take mask tape and cover all of the surfaces except for the frame, after spray, If you want to ad an antique or two toned look-take another color (black over gold or silver for an antiqued look ) and weakly spray the frame in the wind.
You can also find decorations contained by a Craft/hobby store to lightly hot glue onto the frame to tag on decoration.
If the wood is soft, you can stencil the frame then flood in or leave innate.
Hope this helps!
You can add tiny dots of color by using an behind the times hairspray bottle and paint deluted with a 1/4 water or more dampen depending on the thickness of your paint. Craft paints work well. Spray in the region of a foot away from the frame, you can change colors as often as you resembling. Glitter never hurt or glitter glue pocka dots
stuff resembling that or look on google.com
