My daughters room is bright green. I want to paint it a light purple. I own absolutely no hypothesis where to originate...no supplies...how do i do this for the cheapest amount of money???
Answers: I have be painting for 12 years and I found the majority of paint supplies needed are cheaper at Home Depot or Lowes. You can pick up a apparatus that will have a brush (usually a 2 inch), a roller frame, roller rest (the sleeve that slides onto the roller) and a roller pan, for underneath $10.00. You should also pick up a roll of 2 inch wide blue painter tape, this will collect you alot of time and when in doubt use it (around door handle, door hinges, and along the top of the stub boards if needed). From the sound of the color transmutation you will probably want to pick up a gallon of primer to put on the walls first ( Kilz is the best but there are cheaper brands out there). Make sure the primer IS NOT grease based, the grease based primer is better but the clean-up is extensive and add extra costs of mineral spirits to clean the brush out and afterwards you'll also need another brush. I hold used a Kilz brand paint that is already tinted and it worked legitimate well, in recent times don't be surprised by the thickness if you shift this route because it is very gluey and covers really well, and according to the size of the room you may receive by with one gallon but should plan on buying two. This benign of paint can be found at Home Depot and I got it at Walmart, and it run about $20 a gallon. But a can of primer will run you $10 to $15 a gallon anyway and consequently you'll still need to buy your underpinning color, so it may be cheaper to buy the built in primer. And it can be cleaned up near water. If you buy semi-gloss or eggshell (a permanent status for how it looks when dry), you should paint one wall at a time or it will flash (the cut line - or the places you use the brush will stand out).
