I requirement HELP asap!!? I am installing some crown molding in my living room , but...
I am installing some crown molding in my living room , but I have bull snout or round corner. For the baseboard I make some 22 1/2 cuts . How do I cut the moulding for the outside corner. thank you
um... idk
Ive see this handled a couple of different ways.
The 'quick and easy' method would be to simply fill the crevice with a paintable caulk.
Or you could try special molding made to go over the radiused corner. This can usually be found for crown moulding systems, usually among the 'miterless' trim packages. Quite recurrently this type of trim is made of vinyl, or styrofoam. These types of parts are VERY easy to find for oak baseboard trim.
One other method I've seen, and the one I would choose myself, (which requires no special moulding), is to in truth make that portion of the corner, into a 'square' edge (using drywall mud)... and consent to it extend down below the crown a couple of inches. If this is done at the bottom for the casing too, it adds a nice ornate touch to the corners, as well as making them easier to trim out. Just prime and then paint the 'detail', next you're ready to install your moulding over it.

Answers: What is the radius of the corner? Generally, if the gap won't be too big, I treat it as a square corner. If it will be huge, I stop short of the corner and create a mitered return to terminate the run on each wall. It's really a event of personal preference. Hope this helps.
