I have mostly black furniture surrounded by my living room. My coffee table, entertainment system, tv, lamps, computer table are adjectives black and I have a cocoa colored couch that be given to me. All of my colors are dark and unhappy. I wanted to blanch up the room a little but I don't know how to do it. I want to incorporate an accent color but don't know what would look perfect. What colors should my curtains be ( I want 2 different colors) ? Should I paint my white walls to another color? Please help me. I entail to seriously redecorate. I would greatly appreciate any help. Answers: The first piece you need to do is conceptualize and visualize. You don't own to paint the walls a light color to bring a passion of light to the room. So you need some contrast that make those things stand out. I suggest a color darker than pale and lighter than orange. Something surrounded by a kind of terracota texture can be achieve with the right tool from home depot, or loews. Add curtains that are closer to pale, but still a bit darker. This will be paid the windows a bit of a focal point, which will trade name people regard of light. The wall color will breed both the sofa and the entertainment center pop. If you are going to go as far as redo the floor, I suggest a wood floor alond the lines of a Mahoghany. Add a throw rug and lamps that bring the curtains and the entertainment center together. Buy one of those huge stoneware vases that are give or take a few 3 foot tall. Create a dry flower arrangement that have browns, burgandys, yellows and a little black.
