Since your carpet is nonpartisan, you can paint the walls any color you want. My recommendation would be any a light blue or a sage green. It will afford the room a calm comfortable foreboding. "Timid Blue" from Sherwin William's is a soft light non overpowering blue. If you are more into green, after I would recommend either "Sage" or "Drop Leaf" or even "Green Earth". oil lamp tans or beiges can give you a formal look
muted blues or greens can give you a French Country or a cottage look
pallid lavenders and yellows can give you a shabby chic look
