I am Making Handyman Fliers and could use some Input please? Hi, My husband is out of work and is going to try...
Hi, My husband is out of work and is going to try to start a handyman type of business until something better comes thru. He is mechanically inclined and experienced in concrete, landscape, roofing, etc etc. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what they would like to see? Where I should post these? Do you suggest putting within doors? Any information would help. Thanks!
If you have a local advertising weekly that accompanies the regular newspaper, place an public notice there. Also, check your local hardware stores and Home Depot or Menards and see if they have a bulletin board--I other ask people at Home Depot or Menards if they know someone who will do the work. Also if your local radio station has a home and garden show you may bring back some referrals from them or their website. See if your local hardware stores will allow you to post his skills. How about nurture stores? Garden stores?
You could put them in people's mailboxes as well and if you enjoy time.
Hey, first past its sell-by date I hope your husband comes insured... because if someone isn't too happy with the outcome they could sue him. conceivably you could research and write up some documents stating that he's not liable for random things happening... idk... but anyway posterior to your idea.
most supermarkets in my nouns have bulletin boards for you to post on. you could start there & you can post on craigslist.org within your area under services. next perhaps take out a small commercial in the newspaper! it shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks. Maybe you could put flyers lower than peoples windsheild wipers at lowes or home depot also?
Answers: Hi. I was surrounded by the same situation you were in the region of a year and a half ago. I made fliers (4 per page) and stuck them in saloon windshields and homeowner doors all over town. I also posted full page fliers at the post office and any grocery store bulletin boards I could find. Make business cards and put them contained by tanning salons, nail salon, restaurants..think women. One thing I know after answering the phones for my husband's business is that more recurrently than not if the wife doesn't actually make the appointment, she is usually sitting right there having hand her husband the number. We haven't had to pay for exposure thanks to the fliers and word of mouth. I'd love to hear how this works out for you guys. It's been a fearsome time for us, but now things are really looking up. I hope this helps.
