You may craving to pick a more neutral colour and accessorize next to the more girly-fun colours in pillows, a bench, lamps, bedding, nouns rug. That way you won't receive tired of a colour and have to metamorphosis it. You could also do a "feature wall" where on earth you paint one wall a funky colour and the rest leave dull.
Try a coral colour - it's girly but has a allusion of orange so it read a lot more "assertively feminine" - confident! It's different than peach - coral have more pink in it.
Check out Drake Design Associates for some GREAT colour inspiration - he's AWESOME!!

Answers: play around next to the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the pattern, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I similar to that you can search by color kinfolk & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most faithful, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

How more or less splitting the difference between blue & purple and go near something like "twilight gray" (# 0054)?
I would suggest you buy a comforter that you really love, and use one of those colors for your inspiration. Lighter colored walls are more appealing to the eye than bright or really grey colors. Pink, purple or blue are very nice colors for walls. Thank you for not wanting black. It sounds close to you have a correct head on your shoulders. You are one practical. Good luck, and have fun beside your summer project!
