Is there a way to take old wallpaper off a wall. I ripped some of it sour, its just the back of it. I dont want to dance to a harware store and buy something, so is there anything at a regular house that I could use. ALSO if for some reason I would not be capable of get it off, when I paint my room, will you be capable of see the wallpaper?
Thanks for the help!
Steam and plenty of it. You can hire steam machines that remove wallpaper from the walls, and it comes down easy! Use fabric softener. Mix it up near a little water, and sponge it over the wall rag. It should come of very easily.
Good luck!
If you already started ripping then you are going to hold to take it all down since the slash marks will show through the paint.
Mist the walls in small section with warm/hot water, later scrape (plastic scraper so you don't damage the drywall) If you don't hold a scraper try an old credit card or plastic card of some sort.
Try steam (a clothing steamer, or iron) is it is stubborn.
They do sell a devise that make scratches in the treatise so the water can get lower than into the glue, so you may be able to improvise something similar to that (not too deep though or there will be like mad or wall repairs to do).
After you get it down, make sure to valet the walls well to get rotten all the residual glue, or the paint will not stick okay.
get a spray bottled occupied with water and vineger and soak it consequently get a scrapper and scrap it bad paint the room :)
or stick a new wallpaper on top of the feeble one
dont leave it so long or u will face problems beside it later
hope i helped :)
You ahve several methods each with their own drawbacks, and benefits. You can use chemicals to break down the outdated wall paper to make it easier to procure off the wall. you can use a sander specifically designed to remove it and capture the dust so it does not brand name such a mess. You can use heat and lots of physical labor to scrape it rotten. There is no real good effortless way toremove it. I just finished stripping an entire bedroom and I found white vinegar worked better than anything. Just spray it on near an old sprayer bottle. Let it stand a bit but not long enough to dry out and later scrape with a putty type gouge. I also tried diluted fabric softener sprayed on the paper. It worked but not as ably as the plain old vinegar. Yes you have to own the paper clear off or it will be a "bump" contained by the places you did not remove when you paint over it.
Answers: I am just immediately getting my wallpaper off. I was told to use heat water and vinagar but I find hot water works lately fine by iself.
Just get a cloth and have a bowl of hot hot hose down. Wet cloth and then drench the wall paper booth by section. The first layer you will own to scrape pff with some work. Wet the subsequent layer and it peels right stale. It sounds hard but once i soon got the suspend of it and now im a wallpaper peeler pro! and u can be too! haha =D
vinegar and water, spray it on and it will come right off
EDIT : gather it though after you spray it
Yes. You'll be able to see the paper if you paint over it. I took it down once near lots of water on a sponge or use a spray bottle, get it honest and wet and scrap next to a wide puddy knife. It make a mess, but it's worth it. Be sure to wash walls well to carry any little bits of paper off and agree to dry completely before painting. You can also rent a steamer from a hardware or wallpaper store and do the charge in half the time.
Good Luck hot sea
or hot water and vinegar
it should come right off
if then use a scraper
and a rough sponge fpr
the remnants of the bits of glue and stuff
if you paint over it it depends on how menacing the wallpaper is
how dark the paint is, and how many coats
I wouldnt recommend doing that really, though
The ppl who have our house did it before us
and it looks crappy in spots you can still see the composition
Steam the wall, iron, hot hose etc
Then it will get damp afterwards you should be able to peel it bad hairspray. I know this sounds counterintuitive, lol...but it works...and I know coz we used it when we took the stripes off my dads truck.
A special steamer can burn the wallpaper off, without the steamer, I don't exactly know what to use.
Besides when you buy it, you'll hold it for life... You need a tiger claw...any dissertation store will probably lend you one. Then use wall paper stripper. Sorry, it you want it easy, you are going to hold to buy something.
scrappers scratch wallpaper off duh Scraper, And Boiling hot water
