I have a fireplace to be exact nothing more than an nouns leaking eyesore.
Would it be better to endow with it a face raise and an insert?
or
Remove it?
Is it difficult to remove the chimney and fireplace?
Are property values better with or lacking fireplaces?
thanks,
It is difficult and expensive to remove a fireplace. A fireplace is considered to increase the pro and appeal of your home when listing it for public sale. And if your home is in an historic nouns you way not be allowed to remove it. My suggestion is to start on the flue and stuff it with insulation and close it tight. Paint or verbs the brick inside, maybe place some candles contained by it, different sizes and shapes. If you think you would truly use it,A reface and an insert would help near making it more efficient and appealing. Hope this help , jim
Give it a facelift and a patterned, weatherstipped insert. Removing it is a VERY big job, and fireplaces, at smallest in places that attain cold, are indeed a plus to prospective home buyers.
And make sure the damper is closed.
Answers: The fireplace is one the most costly and desirable features in a house. Next to updated kitchens and bathrooms, a fireplace add $$$ to your sales price.
You could spruce it up, close the flue vent and probably make a fancy insert beside wood and fabric to close it stale. That should stop the draft. I went beside really expensive doors that close it up. It really saved me money!
DO NOT GET RID OF OR HIDE YOUR FIREPLACE!!!
