How to remodel a bathroom next to not much money? We want to put our house up for sale but our...
We want to put our house up for sale but our bathroom upstairs is surrounded by sad shape. The shower liner is yellowed and mature (and we have a glass with a wood frame within our shower). The tub is aqua. The vanity is crumbling and the sink top's finish is worn rotten so it always looks dirty. The standard lamp fixture is outdated, ugly and broken. Above the sink is only a huge mirror. The toilet is actually two put together. The basis is original (aqua) and the reservoir is white and doesn't have a lid (there is a board that go across and actually make a nice shelf. The wallpaper is falling off and dirty. There is a full-size hole in the wall where on earth a towel bar use to be. The floor is pretty fruitless too. Both the door and linen closet door need to be replace. We really don't own much money (and by that I mean we hold hundreds not thousands) to put into this. We don't know anyone in the trades and aren't handy ourselves. I don't even know where on earth to start with this. Any suggestions?
Answers: Ok, that's plentifully, take a wide breath!
First of all, I ruminate you'll need to do some work. Do you enjoy a realtor yet? He/she may know how to help you prioritize base on what YOUR MARKET expects, what trends and tastes are WHERE YOU LIVE. He/she probably also have a list of contractor friends who will 'help' you, ie, furnish you a decent price, procure there without delay.
Here's where I would start: (low budget, must-do items)
1) Strip the wallpaper, fix the hole, paint surrounded by a neutral color.
Cost (diy) $50-75 for paint, brushes/rollers, spackle. (borrow a steamer if you can . . . )
2) Cover the floor next to vinyl tile
Cost: (diy) $100 avg bath

3) Install a unsullied light fixture
Cost: $25-50 fixture, $50-75 electrician

4) Try to attain rid of the yellowing on the liner with Magic Eraser. $5
5) Install up to date toilet & seat
$75-100, toilet, ?$150 plumber

6) Replace doors
Cost: $100-$150

7) New shower curtain, liner, towel hotel
Cost: $50
8) Install new conceit & top, possibly faucet
Cost: $150-250

Total of 1-8: $750-$1000
Beyond this, I would definitely expect about reglazing the tub and surround, base on how clean you are competent to get the wall. I expect you could get it done for $500-$1000. But as your realtor will speak about you, you would probably get 100% support when you sell.
reglazing etc. http://www.post-gazette.com/homes/200205...
Strip the wall newspaper and paint the walls a neutral color. Repair where on earth the towel bar be with plaster beforehand painting. Buy a strange toilet and replace that. Buy one of those cut to fit bathroom carpets from Sears and cover the floor beside that. If you have money gone get a latest vanity and sink. All of that is to say pretty easy stuff that most any one can do.
