How to bring in a mismatched room look together? And... flowing approach to cover holes.? My sister's put me on the job of making her room like...
My sister's put me on the job of making her room like similar to it matches. Her walls are a light rose pink, the counterpane is tan with rose colored flowers and avacado-green stems, and the furniture is white, street lamp brown, AND dark brown. -_- There are no doors on her closet because they gave us trouble. She have a whole lot of crap up on her walls with tack, and if we take down the mismatched posters and things on her walls, there are tack holes EVERYWHERE and it looks horrible. Are here any ideas on how to make her room look similar to it matches AND cover those tack holes easily and lacking spackling them?
Thanks in advance!
Answers: I'm sure she wishes it to look nice...and yes, you'll have to spackle if you want it to look nice. I would suggest that a little work and not seriously of $ can unify her look and give her something to be proud of!! Key word: Paint!! I would paint adjectives her furniture one color to unify it. Repaint the walls the same color or engineer it the green color if she's wanting a change.keep it flimsy. Take down the posters and tacked stuff. Get her a bulletin board for notes and such and look for trimmings to suit her bedroom..for example, if you paint her furniture white and keep the same wall color, acquire some green architectural stuff to put on the wall...go to flea mkts, thrift stores, consignment shops, look in your grandmas storage for unused stuff that might work. Spray paint it a flat dull green for contrast and make sure you spread it around the room. Get a twin sheet to match her room and put the larger hem size through a curtain rod to use as a closet door! Good luck and thankful painting!
Regarding the tack holes, white toothpaste works really well, after just paint over it. Neutral colors for furniture and walls, then you can pretty much use any color paraphernalia to brighten things up. go easy on the wall decor. and a nice curtain over the closet first would be nice. But really, try the toothpaste, works like a charm. i don't think you enjoy to go through all that spackling, but you could put some on the holes near your fingers and only sand it if you feel approaching it. they're not giant holes so it wouldn't be a big job. instead of the posters, you could do a wall of picture frames in a geometric outline that would cover like 80% of the wall. i find the easiest way to kind thinks look like they belong is to repeat them, whether it's a color or a shape or a style, only repeat it so it feels right. whatever you approaching on your side of the room, find something similar and put it on hers and vice versa. matching pillows, t he same window treatments, the style of art, etc. fitting luck!
