How to frame a fjord room? i,m building my son a house but i,ve never framed a room...
i,m building my son a house but i,ve never framed a room that is bay .i,m not talking roughly a bayed glass but the room has a segment that is bay .i don,t think i,ll enjoy a problem with the walls but how do you do the two corners.thankfulness
Answers: providing the foundation or cantilevers are correct, the corners are solitary a matter of mitering the floor plates and cap. Each cut will be one half of the actual corner angle (e.g. if the corner is 45* respectively miter will be 22.5*). The wall studs should just touch on the inside corner, on the outside corner your going to hold to mill a stud that accepts the exterior sheathing (a pentagonal shaped stud), one is fine after-all its lone carrying the steathing edge(s). So you will end up beside three wall studs within 6 - 8" of one another.
Hope this help . . .
