new house - blank sacking!!! my 10 year old finally have his own room - how to decorate it???? any brilliant planning??? he loves star wars, transformers, dragons, favorite colors are dim blue, red and orange, loves tigers - currently of late simple wooden furniture - happy to paint it....
I would try a nature matter.
Paint the walls a nice base color resembling a taupe chocolate then find some green appliques, like leafs. You could even paint on a tree?
Keep the furnature inherent, and check out Pier one for some natural accent like baskets etc.
If you are spendind alot on bedding I would stick near something they can keep for the subsequent 5+ years like a striped comforter next to Green, Khaki, Brown, & White.
No characters, in 2 years they will be faded surrounded by color, and could seem "childish" to a budding teen.

paint the walls his fave color or favorite colors! they put on the market transformer and star wars bedding at wal mart target and on ebay! maby grasp him a set of just plain bedding and a comfter or fleece blanke of his fave charchters (you never know what he will be into subsequent year!)
im 20 and a girl but my mom always bejewelled my room (untill i became a pubescent LOL) and she has said something thoroughly importan is get things and dress up a room that they can grow up with not out of LOL
posters are also something cheap and undemanding for art & to get and replace as his intrest adapt and grow!
also i would not paint wood furn. maby stain it but not paint it

I know decorate room is awfully big problem .When i was decorate my room then i visit lots of websites but only one site be there which give me a complete information about redo and decoration.
