right so i have glossed doors, do i need to sand them down even if im going to paint over contained by matt ?
what about over silk emultion? can i use matt without sand it down?

Always bear within mind that the finished quality with any of these job, probably depends more on good preparation than the final coating.

Answers:    Hi, you could either sand them down or use a primer first, later use Matt paint. The matt paint will not give a tough finish and you may find it will come off near any knocks and scrapes.

If you prefer a coating to be precise not shiny, use either a paint called eggshell or satinwood, these would be more suitable for doors, and would cover make notes on paint.

If the silk emulsion is on your walls it would be really hard work to sand all the walls, I don`t know go for a soft sheen or vinyl matt.
