I just posted another ask about this but very soon I have another. I'm around to install bamboo flooring. I'd similar to to put it over my existing hardwood floor (which has be covered with runner since long before I owned the house). I a moment ago took up the carpet and am prepping the floor. One problem is that the existing floor squeaks, ALL OVER. Does anyone own recommendations for eliminate the squeaks before I install the up to date stuff? I've run some nails and screw into the joists and they come across to help but it seem like I'll call for a ton of them for this.
Also, when I install the new stuff, which is tongue and groove, should I install it straight up to the existing flooring or parallel? The existing floor is already perpendicular to the floor joist.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Answers: you want to glue it down. i put a fastener in every 4th or 5th board. you can run it ny direction you want, when the gum sets you will have no more squeeks or kreeks!
IKEA have bamboo flooring the cheapest I own found you might want to look it up if you have one around
