If you place conkers in the corners of your room apparently spiders can`t stand them and stay away from your room.
I tested this theory by placing conkers subsequent to this spider who had made a pattern on the window but it didn't move.

But you never know, this spider might've be immune to them.

And I'll make a rough guesstimate that nearby are 9.42580974 spiders in your room. LOL.
