i accidentally chipped the edge of the wall. it's not a big gaping hole or anything, but you can see the metal looking stuff underneath the paint. my parents say-so it will cost a lot of money, but can't you newly paint over it?

Answers:    As a parent I would tell my kids indistinguishable thing... but since I'm not YOUR parent I'll newly tell you what I know. Joint compound or spackle to pack the chip isn't expensive at all. It wouldn't embezzle much, so a small tube would do it. Depending upon what the texture is on the wall it can probably be blended to match, consequently a few coats of paint can go on.

I judge you're parents are trying to get you to transport responsibility. Ask them if you can help fix the chip, and explain to them you'll be more careful subsequent time. That's what I would want to hear from my kids in a situation approaching that.
