I know they can't be refinished. How long before they necessitate to be replaced. Dogs and children in ancestral.
Rawstuff is correct. It varies near the quality of the flooring. Some enjoy more scratch resistant surfaces than others and explicitly reflected contained by their warranty.
Laminate floors will resist scratches a bit better than "regular" wood floors. The laminate will resist dents much better because the laminate if fundamentally hard. Laminate floors can't be refinished but regular wood floors can.
Neither is bullet proof but for the price, the really flawless laminate is a better bargain.
Actually, laminate flooring is pretty tough!! I have a client who have preschoolers and two dogs. The floor was laid three years ago. It looks pretty righteous. There are, of course, a few small scratch here and there, but they chose a glorious end floor, and it have stood the test of time.
It's adjectives in the competence of the flooring, and the underlayment. She has spoken to me just about possibly replacing it with any an engineered floor, or a hardwood floor in the subsequent two to three years, as the kids get elder.
I think you can count on almost 5 years, with ordinary wear and tear, next to kids and dogs. Maybe longer, if the kids are taught to think twice, and the dogs have their nail clipped regularly. Buy a high point 9mm thick flooring, next to avery good lower than pad, and you will receive years of wear and it will be easy to save clean next to a damp mop and mild soap and hose down!!
Answers: We put laminate flooring in our ultimate home. . .throughout the entire house. We used what we thought was a correct brand name (pergo). . .honestly we've have it for 2 years now and the dinning room floor is scratched bleak from people sliding chairs in/out when ingestion dinner. We also have a few areas where on earth the joints hold separated and there are little gap there, and a few other areas where on earth something heavy be dropped (son's toys) and it chipped the finish off.
Don't be fooled by "25 year guarantees" they provide you, because after reading the FINE print. . . . its only guarunteed if you own them professionally installed by one of their installers, which we did not do, so we were **** out of luck. We a moment ago sold our home, but before doing so, we have to rip the flooring out in a couple of rooms and rehash it, as to make it look better. Thats the down side of laminate wood flooring. It cannot be refinished, so once something happen to it, all u can do is replace it.
We own a dog (75lb weimaraner) and an 18month old son. . . our current (new) home have hard wood floors, and I similar to them soooo much better!
