It will be a relatively high-traffic area- living room/play room for kids. We know fir is soft, that's OK, we just want to do as much to prtect as possible without going overkill. Right very soon, we are planning on 5 coats.
Answers:    5 is good. Standard for professional job is usually 2, 3 as an chance. The top line pre-finished floors have 7.
