Answers:    I do not know how high they are on average but of late wanted to influence that we have be unhappy beside ours. We got one so that our child could sleep up top, and lounge on the sofa below and hold a place for a guest to sleep over. We have found that he misses his cat sleeping on the bed, he hate climbing down every time he wants a drink or to hit the john or to turn out the pale, and he doesn't like the lantern from the ceiling light (too bright, atypical angle) and lamps, even torch lamp are too low. You are stuck with a clamp on hurricane lantern. Remember to allow plenty of room for your child to sit up in bed beside plenty of head clearance. The number one entity that bugs me about a bunk is CHANGING THE SHEETS! Make sure within is plenty of ceiling clearance for Mom to clamber up there and move around on hand and knees trying to get that later corner tucked in!
