I need to replace adjectives the doors inside my house. None of them match and they are adjectives beat up. I be thinking of getting cheap 6 panel doors and painting them adjectives white and getting new hardware. We are on a tight budget. I own no idea of where on earth to start. What and where should I buy? Do you paint first or swing first? How do you hang the doors? Is at hand anything else I will need to finish this type of project?
Answers: a pre hung door is a tools .everything u need...includes the door and the preserve or frame of the door...do not try to just replace the door slabs and maintain your old jam because u need to cut into the unmarked slab a grove for the hinge.if u never none it I wouldn't try it...buy pre hung doors...remove the trim on your doors and measure right to moved out the rough opening which is from the wood 2x4 studs...if the rough orifice is about 33.5 afterwards u need to buy a 32 inch door..the rough debut need to be slightly wider later the door and jam.. ..later u need to know if the door swings into the room or swings out.and what side the hinge are on.all this info is needed when u buy hot doors.to much to tell u how to install one , so better to buy a book at the hardware store it shows u how.this is the best method.pick up some shims, you'll need them.ask surrounded by the store what shims are
You have tons options. If you want a full detail on how to do it, I would dance to Home Depot or Lowes and ask one of the people here. They can give you a step by step instruction encyclopaedia. You're better off taking the doors down and seeing if you can restore them if you're trying to stay on a budget. You close the door and from the inside of the room, you can see peg where they're hung into the frame. Take a screw driver and sledge hammer and hammer out the peg. You can save the hinge to put on new doors.that will accumulate you money. I would paint before you suspend, then do touch-up on any parts tatty by hanging. Also, be sure you paint past putting new door handle on. To hang unmarked doors, you put the pegs vertebrae in the hinge where they come out of.
