Without the use of a sewing machine...can I use velcro or will that take home it look bad? I'm not anti hand sewing..
An effortless duvet cover would be to take 2 flat sheets (the ones short elastic corners) and soome similar or contrastig embroidery floss. Cut the embroidery floss into lengths give or take a few 6 inches long. Using a needle beside a large "eye" (hole at the top) sew the embroidery floss length into the bottom edge and the two sides roughly speaking an 1 1/2 to 2 inches apart. Holding both ends of the floos, tie it in a confuse. (Think about the fleece blankets you see around that are tied.) After you own done this around three sides, sew 1 inch pieces of velcro about 10-12 inches apart along both top edges. For ornamentation, sew matching or contrasting buttons on the outer side of the top farthest point over the velcro. This will cover it nicely.
This project can be as inexpensive or as expensive as you resembling depending upon the price of the sheets that you use. Be sure to allow an extra about $10 for the velcro and embroidery floss (get a couple hank of it as you can always return any extra but you do not want to hold to go rear and get more.) Also, cehck your button prices. buttons can supply up very immediately. for buttons that are not too fancy, try Walmart. for nicer buttons, try Joann Fabrics. Also, if you want a basic button, Joanns have plastic buttons that are about an inch and a partially in both primary (brights) and pastel colors really inexpensively.

Measure the length and width of your duvet beside a tape manoeuvre. Write down the measurements.
Choose a washable home decorator fabric. Opt for a lightweight material that feels comfortable against your skin - especially for the underside of the duvet - if you will use your duvet contained by lieu of a top sheet.
Choose two equal lengths of 54-inch-wide stuff (or wider) for the front of the duvet cover. Each panel should be equal to the length measurement you made surrounded by step 1, plus 5 inches.
Choose two equal lengths of cloth for the back of the cover as capably. Each piece should be equal to the length measurement from step 1, plus 3 inches.
Look for home decorator fabric that are at least 54 inches general to cover a duvet that is up to 104 inches broad. If your duvet is wider, purchase one additional panel of cloth for each side of the cover.
Look at duvet covers within bedding and department stores for inspiration about textile types, weights and color combinations. They are never sold with velcro.
I would just purchase a carton of small safety pins, and use them adjectives around the edges! then turn it inside out, and stuff the duvet inside! pin the bottom circumference to keep the duvet within, and voila! fast and simple.. and not as mechanical as hand stitching a generous duvet cover!
A quick and effortless Duvet cover can be made from sheets.
Choose a set of flat sheets in a color you approaching.
Place the sheets top sides together and hand stitch around 3 sides and bring in ties, use snaps or small Velcro strips for the closures.
Answers: I don't reflect I would use velcro - it could bunch up and wouldn't lay right. Without a sewing machine I would probably merely hand stitch a seam around the edges.
