Hi there, I am going to stain my floors and would close to to know how to apply the stain to the floor. Do I pour the stain onto the floor and then wipe accross next to a rag or brush or do I brush it on from the tin beside my rag or brush?
Answers:    Do rather test peice on a bit of similar wood to see if it will grant the right colour first - if necessary dilute according to manufacturer's guidance. Don't pour it all over the floor but wipe next to a lint-free cloth a long the direction of the grain, contained by the direction of the boards to give even coverage. You can use brushes but the cloth give more control, I find, although I have get a way beside a small roller, before.

If it's oil-based manufacture sure you dispose of the rags or put into an airtight tin as they may ignite spontaneously.
Definetely use a soft cloth delicately dipped in the stain and apply. The concept is to get the stain evenly applied across the wood so it adjectives matches. Pouring it from the can will give huge areas darker from deeper infiltration. I hope this helps you
