I am having a really hard time lifting some outmoded flooring. The actual vinyl from the floor is coming off quite confidently. I'm having a heck of a time removing the glue or underlying sticky stuff that adhere the vinyl to the sub-floor. I've been doing this with a putty axe. This works albeit takes me 1/2 an hour to do a square foot. Then I used a machine that lift the vinyl -- this actually further makes the sticky stuff hug more to the subfloor.
Answers: hm.let me give you a suggestion..
to acquire the glue off..
1. pour some sea onto the floor and make sure it doesn't flood the area...later let it sit there.and the cement will come off later on. but remember..after you verbs up the water, make sure you scrub the floor all over again. if it doesn't work, email me at tigerpal6(a)yahoo.com
2. get a wet sponge and scrub it sour the floor...(maybe it will work)
GOOD LUCK!
Flooring people have a putty wound but on a large scale! It's get a long handle so you aren't on your knees or bent over and it's got a flat metal firm border. I've seen these on TV but never in a store. Call some flooring stores and ask them if they rent or put on the market something like this. If not, would a sander work or would it just gum up near glue? VERY CAREFULLY use a small propane torch to just steam the glue and use a putty knife to remove it.
