How do I remove a faux-painted decal from a painted wooden cabinet short messing up the cabinet's paint? I moved into a home that has wooden kitchen cabinet painted...
I moved into a home that has wooden kitchen cabinet painted with white paint. There are also some decals pressed on that are supposed to look faux-handpainted. To me, they only just look tacky, and I'd similar to to remove them. The problem is that when I try to remove the decals, the paint from the cabinet itself starts to come off as okay. So far, I've tried rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover. Any other thinking on how to remove the decals without messing up the underlying paint? Thanks!
Answers: You could try Goof Off or Goo Gone, but any one will probably take rotten the paint, too. You could try sandpaper, which is the only route, but you'll probably sand some of the paint.
If they really bother you, that only solution is to sand bad. prime and repaint.
The one remedy that springs to mind is an anti graphite spray,
I saw a white vehicle that had be sprayed with a red spray can , this be removed with a graphite removal spray which did not affect the motor paint it is worth a try G/L
