Answers: I get asked this profusely. Scotchgard and similar products protect at the fiber level, not at the stuff level. The weave and coarseness of the threads have more to do with it than whether or not it's be treated.
The only sure process to tell is to transport it to a lab where they can do a destructive experiment to see if the fluorochemicals are there.
Just because hose down does not roll off resembling a duck's back does not niggardly it's not there and doing its post.
It should roll off or bead up....not soak surrounded by.
