How Do I Hang Chinese Lanterns? I am getting married and I want to hang Chinese lanterns contained...
I am getting married and I want to hang Chinese lanterns contained by the venue where we are getting married. The problem is that the columns in the room are in the order of 50 feet apart (it is a large room near a huge vaulted ceiling, and has columns spaced around the exterior wall).
If I use fishing flash will it sag? What else could I use? Should I just tie it around the columns or should I attach it some other means of access?
Also, I CANNOT use nails or anything that will damage the building.
Answers: Instead of fishing chain, you could try thin metal wire, which would own less elasticity to it. Try Home Depot or Lowe's to get that contained by bulk. For hanging it from the columns, you could use plastic hooks with sticky stuff on the back. 3M makes some, and most standard stores (e.g. Target) sell them.
Of course, if you're hanging multiple lantern from each wire, you obligation to ensure the hooks will support the weight. Otherwise, they might come falling down during the event!! (No bride needs that stress...) The 3M website shows how much weightiness each hook is designed to hold, though I'd go beside one that holds more than you need.
