I tried soaking the floor first and then scrub it, but it didn't work very in good health, does anyone have any suggestions?
Answers: DO NOT put any more sea on this floor! Water will warp the wood, and ruin it.
You are going to have to completely strip the paint stale the hardwood. The easiest way would be to hire a floor refinisher to come surrounded by and refinish it. They will use probably three grits of sand paper on their machines: coarse, to go and get the majority of the paint off, atmosphere to even it out, and fine grain to smooth it out so it can be varnished or polyurthaned.
I other cringe when I see "Trading Spaces" and they paint a hardwood floor, or they paint a nice antique flat black. Blech.
If your floor is small, you could do it yourself with Zip-Strip, which I own used on furniture for 35 years. Follow directions on can, then delicately sand with 0000 sandpaper, after use a tack cloth to remove the dust. Then finish up with polyurethane.
If it is Latex paint it should come rotten with no problem , use a blade blade and gently graze off the paint . Or try some Varsol on a piece of cloth and rub. Never soak a wood floor you will ruin it!
