It might look stupid but if you paint all the walls 1 color except 1 wall paint it a lighter color it make the room appear bigger. If you dont want to do that paint the ceiling a lighter color than the walls.

I know exactly what you mean. The best entity that I found was to go and get a daybed and use it as a sofa in the daytime and a place to crash at hours of darkness. I love zebra.. I mean LOVE zebra and get a cool zebra print daybed cover like this one singular I have a red shag rug that sets it rotten.

Answers:    I know how you feel. I suggest getting one of those bed that is approaching a bunk bed but instead has shelving a desk or even a sitting nouns where the bottom bunk should be (IKEA)... and hold that against the wall and then put mirrors up so that your room looks bigger. Also for fine art.. what i have is white walls beside hot pink accents. So i hold patterns painted contained by hot pink... hot pink pillows with my white bed sheets.. etc... hope that help...
