I have see this question asked formerly, but nothing seem to apply.
I have ventilate my garage with a gable freshening fan (covered by a nice looking vent cover on the outside)
I have tried a 12000 btu portable a/c component vented through my garage door (it is cut to same size and covered beside a dryer vent type cover so that louvers come open when it nouns is pushed out)
When that wasn't working (my garage still staying at 89 degrees + near a/c) we bought a portable evaporative cooling system...massive huge, still no help.
We of late recently (before trying to cool it) added R-13 insulation to walls and covered them near wafer board.
We are at our wits closing, this is serving as a family room, so we own got to procure this cooled down. Please help!
Ohio Resident outstandingly hot here 94 degrees today to be exact.
put incellation i live in my garage and it pretty cool..
Sounds like there's no insulation contained by ceiling. If there no insulation and sheetrock up here it will cook you. Also roof color is a factor, dark attracts fry and light colors imitate.
Good Luck
Answers: I'd be ready to bet you have a shady color asphalt shingle roof on that garage and the roof is exposed to the sun. You also probably have little to no insulation on the roof and no roof vent. If that's so, then that's your problem right here.
You will want to insulate that roof and be sure to use roof vents. Since the asphalt roof is close to a frying pan, you will want to insure that in attendance is an airspace between your roof and insulation with a vent to the outside on the zenith to let hot nouns our and a vent at the gables to let within cooler outside air. Underneath that airspace go your insulation. For a garage, easiest solution will probably be extruded polystyrene (those big 4'x8' sheets of dense foam).
