How can I clean/restore a Victorian fireplace? I think what I call for is a modern equivalent of "blacklead"...
I think what I call for is a modern equivalent of "blacklead" I have stripped past its sell-by date several layers of paint and immediately have a metal surface explicitly mainly black but next to some uncoloured metal (steel?) showing through.
Answers: There was a product call Zebo black grate. It is a coating for fire places and a lot resembling shoe polish. It is now call Stovax Black Grate Polish and costs about lb3.70 a tube.
Try Hammerite black metal paint,
