I rent an apartment with 2 non working fireplaces. They are both marbel beside a very mature finish. Tape ruins the finish and i don't want to repair a fireplace i don't even own. I want to get x-mas lights up on the mantel but i enjoy no idea how to gain them to stay.
Answers: What about buying some artifical headdress and stringing some of the tiny lights along the garland? Lay the circlet on top of the mantal and you enjoy an even better decoration than beside lights by themselves.

I'd try Command strips by 3M. I've used them for hanging up pictures surrounded by apartments and they leave no markings at adjectives. They make frequent different styles such as strips for hanging pictures or hooks that might work great for x-mas lights.
