Home jazz floor? I bought a house (2900 SF) with an initiate floor plan design...
I bought a house (2900 SF) with an initiate floor plan design in the leading living areas and a 450SF dance floor near a 14' vaulted ceiling that adjoin the main living room.I installed 24 x 24 marble tiles contained by the dance nouns and also put in a Wurlitzer full sized commercial Juke Box and a modern round table and handrail stool set.Have a motorized 18" mirrored disco ball near the colored mini spot lights and a couple of black lights.
Question is:
should I go adjectives out and put in the retro cafe booths and table, vintage coke contraption, and a vintage pin-ball machine or should I disappear it as an open tango floor?
Answers: That really depends on your lifestyle. Will you use the dance floor more than you would the pin-ball piece of equipment, the booths? I've done homes with spring floors for people who enjoy ballroom, line dance and salsa as a hobby and they constantly use their floors. But, I've had other clients who "thought" it would be nice to hold a dance floor installed single to find that they didn't entertain much that method. Now in one home, we moved out the dance floor but added french bistro cafe table and chairs that could be moved when they wanted to use the floor to leap. In the end, the result should be based on your lifestyle and what contained by the end will be an extension of it.
