Ok, room is a bare sheet ready to run..
Next week beige hearth rug gets fitted and the coming furniture will be of a pine finish (hopefully)
The woodwork i.e doors skirts and rail have be glossed in white.
So whats a well brought-up living room colour, my last colour be yellowish, so I not sure if i want to go here again..
Also this is a small openplan bedsit (granny bungalow)
I cant really go for anything dull as it makes it give the impression of being far too small a property and I a little woorried if i shift too light the place will surface cold...
Awkward am i not lol, this is why Im stuck...
any ideas would be great
terracota is a nice warm colour for the winter coming
We have not long painted our living room...
Dulux Once
Soft stone
Its lovely.
Answers: You can't turn wrong with cream shades. (Using white paint will bring in the room very cold and clinical looking). Fashion presently is to use a patterned wallpaper on one wall - usually the wall with a fireplace on it.
Use terracotta shades within the accessories (cushions etc) and you enjoy a cosy looking room.
If you have room, a huge rug in the middle of the floor would look biddable and large plant for one corner would look great.
Table lamp - use lightbulbs with a bit of apricot or similar - they give a thaw out glow. (Tesco vend them.)
(Dark colours in a north facing room will bring in it dull, cold and dreary looking)
