Answers: If you're willing to appropriate the risk, chocolate brown, or a single red wall. Allow me to explain. When you paint the walls chocolate brown, it makes the space look larger, and will thwart any kind of furniture you hold sharply. It's a risky move, and in my view, definitely worth it. Alternately, when you hold three white or off-white walls, and one wall fire engine red, you now own a showcase wall. Any furniture that you set against or near that wall is going to pop and stand out wonderfully. All four walls being red, however, will fashion the room look like a bordello, which is something that few race desire.
If you're wanting something less risky, and easier to execute, might I suggest a reading light sage? You will want them to mix the regular sage with white at the paint store, so that you don't procure too strong a colour. Sage is something that you want to have controlled. Barring that, a sky blue would also work, as powerfully as a light pink.
For your work desk, it depends on how much attention you want call to it. If you'd like for it to fade into the framework, you will want to match it to the tone of your wall colour. If you're going next to a dramatic wall colour (like the red or the chocolate brown), get a black work desk. If, instead, you choose the paler colours, choose an off-white (but not white; white work desks look institutional) work desk, and it will fade into the background. If, however, you prefer for your work desk to stand out, choose a colour that will sharply contrast near both the existing wicker and the wall colour.
