I have a bed and a frame and do NOT want a headboard.
Where can I find innovative design ideas for a amazingly plush, sexy headboard alternative?
Any suggestions?
I hold two ideas for you that I enjoy actually see done (not just surrounded by some magazine).
1. Make panels of textile using a fabric that you close to and goes beside your room, stretch it out over a thin wooden frame so its resembling a picture, except do it in long panel that rise from just above where on earth you pillow would be to about 6 inches from ceiling. you can put together one big panel or several small ones, it looks kinda neat when they are different sizes. I hold my bed in a corner so I enjoy this on two walls surrounding my bed. Then you just screw them on the wall. I covered the screw up in my room next to white Christmas lights, its a nice lighting.
2. Use a long thing piece (about a foot or so bigger than the span of your bed) of plastic piping (from hardware store in plumbing) use fa piece of textile about 1 1/2 times the wideness of your bed. Velvet is nice for this. The height should be from below the top of your mattress to however soaring you want the "headboard" . Fold the top of the fabric over and stitch it so its approaching a curtain, hem around the outsides that might fray. insert pipe. Then attach two curtain hooks above the bed, just almost the center where respectively pillow is (assuming its full size or more). Then you just rest the pipe across the hooks, it will hang down down naturally to form a rounded "headboard" . Arrange "curtain" to be gathered, tuck extra stuff behind bed. To preserve fabric from falling past its sell-by date ends, I cant remember what I saw it done with but conceivably you could glue it to the pipe. You can ornament this however you want with patterned rope, ties, etc..
get some sheer cloth, and dangle it over the head of the bed, you can pin it or hem it so it act like a curtin, or obtain a hoop, hula is a little sizeable. but you can jsut use wire and label a curtin *or buy some curtins* and bend the wire within to a hoop, and hang it above the principal of the bed like a sunshade.
very sexy, and chic. we enjoy one in black, and we love it.

Answers: I have one really baroque piece of art on a big wall in my bedroom, for the rest of the room, I required pure simplicity.
A headboard wasn't an option for me because I put my bed within between 2 windows, so my nightstands on any side of my bed are under the window.
Above my bed, in between the window, I put 3 framed pictures up. One is of a sunset I took in Mexico, one is of a palm tree within San Diego, and the 3rd is the NYC skyline. I took all three photos, so they mingy something to me, and they represent the 3 most fun vacations I've have with my husband (we live close to NYC...so that wasn't really a vaca.)
You could pinch this idea and brand name it "sexy" but putting pictures of lingerie, body parts, black or red rose ( I don't mean contained by a sweet way..I penny-pinching like a black perspective with a blood red rose), resembling....

Look for a used upholstered headboard and reupholster it yourself. You can sometimes find them at unwanted items shops or on craigslist. You could also find an inexpensive divider screen, wad the panels, and upholster it next to a fun fabric. Upholstering any of these is pretty easy and usually just requires a glue gun to stick the padding, and a staple gun to lock up the fabric. Very confident to do. I've done it myself many times.
HAHA!! OOPS!! I may own read this wrong.
So how about tallying a draped canvas over the top and down the put money on of the bed? Also easy to do. On the ceiling, at the foot wrapping up and head of the bed, suspend lightweight dowels or curtain rods horizontally using attractive chains and hooks. Then drape your fabric similar to a curtain, 1/4 down the front dowel, over the bed, and all the mode down the back dowel to the floor. Have see this done in personality and it looks very cool.
I don`t know if your bed is up against a wall then youcould bring 1 large painting/picture/drawing etc.. or two or three smaller pictures that work together to place above your bed.... conceivably a black and white painting or something you enjoy painted yourself on a white canvas.

Sexy can mean so frequent things to so many citizens. There are good option out there but how unproblematic do you want the idea? Here is a net site for you:http://www.ironaccents.com/headboardothe... see if it helps for planning. I stenciled a block wall behind my bed next to flowers cascading down from the top of it but it wasn't plush. 100 weekend decorate ideas for 2007 have a bamboo frame trailing the bed with a woven rattan mat hanging on it. Four larger vertical wicker stakes sandwiched between a horizontal wicker stake with four more rattan stakes on the other end. The woven mat or tapestry hung over the horizontal wicker.
You could hang a curtain rod on the wall or ceiling and some drapery panel from it. There are so many rods to choose from now from rod iron to wood to wire. The panel of fabric could be silk or velvet or sheets for that business.
Cut a size you want of MDF (thin wood from the hardware or lumber store), wrap in polyester fiberfill and afterwards a fabric and staple. Screw this piece to the wall and cement anything on the tops of the screws to mask metal(fancy buttons, leather knots, bead, disk of wood covered with textile...you get the idea).
An mature antique beveled door hung sideways, a large detailed picture frame near fabric covered MDF inside the frame, stool cushions hung on the wall, painters sheet with yard goods pieces attached to them. I don't know if any of this helps but conceivably these will inspire you to create other ideas. Good luck
