As a designer, start beside an inspirational piece & work on your core items & then decorate next to accents last. I emphatically recommend beadboard (wainscoting) on the walls or a baby blue paint. Baby blue goes next to every color on the rainbow & works well with Hawaiian themes-you can mess up or shift wrong with that color. Then have fun decorate with the accessories that everyone else provided within their answers!

Hi! I want to do my room with a beachy sort of look too. So I picked out paper lantern in various colors, and picked out blue, ginger, and white paint. For the floor I found bamboo beach mat at a garage sale and layed 2 of them down on my floor. My bedding is an orange comfortor near blue accent pillows. I have 2 ginger vases on both of my nightstands and a white chandalier hanging from my ceiling. I enjoy a table that is awesome. It is sort of like a box near an open top with a big piece of rectangle cup on top of it. Inside I put beach sand and shells. Then the walls. They adjectives start out turquiose blue. Then I painted a foot wide stripe going around all four of them except one. On the wall that doesnt enjoy a stripe in the middle of it, I painted big beachy flowers like the ones contained by the sky on spongebob. Those were orange and be outlined in white. Hope I helped!
