Answers: Granite will work just fine but it usually have a very smooth surface and that can variety it very slippery. It also is not completely resistant to scratch. Cost can also be higher than stoneware tile.
Contrary to what many reflect granite is not porous so that is really not a consideration. Marble can be porous and is much softer than granite and will wear within time. Look at older building that hold marble steps, they usually are very worn.
There are frequent ceramic tile finishes that resemble granite or stone and are much better for floor surfaces.
Once you see the solidity and price your mind will change.
