I have a house to be precise 2,400 square feet. I really want to put adjectives hardwood floors in. Does anyone know how much money that will be? I really approaching berch wood. And I live in Orange County. Thank You!!!

Answers:    We've not done our together house, but this week we just finished putting firm wood laminate in our upstairs - 3 bedrooms and 1 landing.

We used Tarkett brand that we found at Menards, which is approaching a Midwest version of Lowes or Home Depot. It be on sale and HALF the cost of the 'bigger brand names' - so we give it a try.

We used maple, not birch- I do have photos of it on my blog - budgetbarbie dot com - if you want to see it. I'd influence we had almost 500-600 square feet and did it for freshly over $600 (partly because it was on public sale when we bought the flooring a few weeks before Christmas).

'Bigger' brand name are going to be about $3-4 a sq. foot but we did ours for just about $1.29 a sq. foot.

IKEA has affordable flooring too so if budget is a decide factor I'd check there!

It should cost any where on earth from $5.50 sq ft up to $7.50 sq ft. I got this information from 2007 Contractor's Pricing Guide that I bought from Home Depot.
