Our city is razing much of its elderly housing stock. Is it feasible to salvage hardwood floors?
Answers: Depends how outmoded it is. I've done a lot of remodels surrounded by New England on some pretty old houses that considered necessary "new" flooring. The reality is, the aged hardwood floors used virgin oak, not the stuff that comes from tree farm today. You can relay the age (approx.) according to the grain contained by the wood. Modern floors have greatly tight grain pattern. The lines in the particle a pretty close together, whereas, the older floors will hold a wider grain. Many relations are willing to wages for this type of old flooring system, so I influence, salvage as much as you can and put it up on eBay. You will get buyers because near are only a few companies that I know of Nationally that in actual fact specialize in infirm restored wood construction and restoration. If you are demolishing brick, save it too. There is a bazaar for what is called "Seasoned brick".
yes some you sure can lots of work will settle off within the end
