We just purchased our first home. It is contained by pretty rough shape and needs alot of work. We started tear up floors and carpets yesterday and to our suprise it have 2000 + sq.ft. of gorgeous original hardwood floor. We are planning on sand and refinishing all of it. So here is my quiz, we are converting an unneeded bedroom in the bathroom. Is in attendance a way to finish and stamp the hardwood in that room so it doesn't hold your attention water? The hardwood is contained by such good shape I estimate it would be a shame to cover it up again, But I also don't want to ruin it.

However, if you sand and finish the whole house, what do you really own to lose if the bath ever get damaged? It is not close to you paid mega bucks for that wood floor.
I have hardwood in the bathroom and kitchen of my finishing house, and even with the occaisional toilet overflow, I never have any damage. Just pinch care to verbs up any water that get on the floor and DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use rubber backed bathroom mat. They will discolor the wood.
Oh...and congrats on the house and the wood floors...that is SO awesome.
Just use a apt polyurethane finish (dura seal is my preference) and use two or three coats, screening between coats.
If you enjoy never refinished a wood floor before, you can do it yourself, but do deeply of research first. It may be better to leave it to a professional if you are extremely concerned next to the results. You should be able to capture it refinished for about $3.00 per sq ft or so.
no because adjectives wood if left next to water on it..will engage it..i dont mean a rushed step with drizzly feet..im conversation hours or days with river sitting on it...so you could seal it beside a great sealer just as you would the rest of the house..and a short time ago remember when you are finished in the shower or tub to wipe the floors down beside your towel
