I was not long at a discount store and they had a few slabs of granite for public sale. I am considering upgrading my bathroom countertops - how would I go in the region of doing this? Are there companies that will cut and install the granite short me purchasing it from them?
Do not breed that mistake! Buy your slab from the fabricator you will not save any money anyway and if it cracks they will definatley blame your slab. Granite is one of those things that costs alot of money so doing it right the first time is markedly important. You don't want any problems near your fabricator. Remember most of the cost of the top will be in distortion and installation of that extremely heavy stone.
Better all the same......
Contact a slab fabricator directly and ask if they have "remnants" for public sale. These are NEW small left over granite pieces from larger job that they often give somebody a lift a huge markdown on (about 1/2 the cost). Most of them are happy to bring rid of them! Sometimes you can talk the price down as resourcefully. What ever you do do not purchase at full retail/full slab size. You will be paying for more granite than what you will be getting because the fabricator has to purchase a full slab and extend the cost to you.
Good Luck!
Answers: I am not sure what you mean by "used granite" but usually the granite that you see at discount stores are remnant pieces that be left over when a slab be cut for a kitchen countertop. They are certainly pious deals to help yourself to advantage of! There are companies that will cut and insall the granite for you lacking supplying the material as okay. Look online for granite installers in your nouns and then a short time ago give them a phone up. They will want to know the size of your vanity cabinet, if you are doing a backsplash, what quality of sink you are going to use, etc. Just remember to seal your granite to keep hold of it new looking and to prevent stains!
