I'm looking to buy a home soon in a definite area of town. Now I dont know why, but every home that i approaching has a kitchen near really ugly white tiles that my wife hate. So to sell her on the house i will obligation to upgrade the kitchen countertops, but i have no concept how much this will cost. Can anyone give me an concept?
Answers: Granite is a nice way to upgrade your kitchen. Granite is sold by the SQUARE foot and NOT by the LINEAR foot. Its a huge difference! Depending on how generous your countertop area is, you can slickly come close to estimating where you will be within terms of price. I would fire up you to draw a diagram of your countertops with dimensions contained by inches and take it to several granite fabricators so they can price it out for you. This step will svae you from have to have them come to your hoime!! There are several different price level for different types of granite. Some fabricators will give you a better price on in no doubt stones if they already have it surrounded by their inventory rather than have to go buy a slab for you. Ask them what is the most probably priced of what they carry and start at hand if cost is a concern. You will find that some granites are as cheap as $40 per square foot and more exotic stones can be as high as $200 per square foot. The average is going to crash down between $60 and $80 per square foot. Do your own shopping around before you commit to anything!! Good luck!!
Depends on the position - anywhere from $75 to $175 per linear ft installed.
