I am redoing my foyer, which is around 10 feet by 12 foot in size). It borders three rooms, adjectives with different flooring: the kitchen (which have an amber colored stone tile), the living room (which has typical oak flooring), and the den (which have a neutral colored, low-pile, wall-to-wall carpet). I would love to put surrounded by hardwood--like a 4 inch wide atmosphere dark wood--but afterwards I think it will clash near the bordering oak? Can I pull it sour? Or what else could I use that will look good beside the other types of flooring it will touch? I'd really appreciate any ideas. I am worried that in that is no good solution--that I freshly have too masses types to tie togther. Thanks.
Answers: use the same tile i.e. in your kitchen. Border the margin with a nice floor listello to seperate it from the kitchen. Or you could use an nouns rug
Two options:
first use the saddle bits and pieces that match your current foyer floor.
Or brushed brass transitions
