we have of late purchased a house with this fireplace surrounded by the living room. keep surrounded by mind the carpet will be tossed...in that is hardwood under it and the red wall aft the fireplace will be painted out. My question is. how thorny would it be to reface this fireplace with stone tile considering the chimney corner and mantel are both stone and stick pretty far out.?
would YOU reface it or just go away it the way it is?
I would either sign out it as it is or paint it with white dust, much cheaper. To resurface it, you would have to crack it out, which is messy and expensive.

Anything CAN be done if you are willing to any do the work yourself or pay the price to hold it done. The options are almost unlimited so hold several drawings done , it's much easier to change something in print before it have been built.

There are heaps companies that manufacture recreation stone or you may prefer a clean wall short a big hearth. The most imprtant point is to make sure the chimey flue and dampers are claen and surrounded by safe workng lay down.

Personally, I like it the means of access it is, the massive brickwork acts as a warmness sink that remains warm releasing it's grill into the room long after the fire is out.
Answers:    I focus that the easiest and best solution would be to clean the used brick and restore them to a "a moment ago placed" condition with any an acid clean or a light sandblast. I would paint the fireplace and mantel a gloss black. The decorators right to be heard that every room should have something black to draw out the other colors. The fireplace appears surefire for this. It would also neutralize the brick and make the existing fireplace a great combination to any decor. In my opinion you can with the sole purpose detract from the beauty of this if you reface it. And to do it properly, you might obligation to remove much of the existing brick.
You might try editing your pic with the different colors you will be using and see how much a black hearth and mantle will amendment the look, and how it goes near your new colors.
Good luck
The pic editing have sure saved me abundantly of real work within all the aspects of my home. I used it to re-landscape my front patio.
Plant placement came out unblemished.
