My husband is contemplating Sears, Lows and home Depot; i said that probably ikea is cheaper. Any suggestions?
Answers: Hello Darlene. Loews or Home Depot will carry more or less the best for the price, but they will not hold up beyond a few years. If you are looking to spruce up the kitchen to sell the house, next fine, but if you are keeping and living in it, for the money spent, you would be far better stale using real wood cabinet ( at higher prices, of course) over the laminated pressed woods that are sold as stock items. If price is adjectives that matters, any of the most important stores will carry wearing clothes items for the money and usually offer some protection contained by the form of warrenties. Well, IKEA is cheaper to some extent if you're predisposed & able to assemble the cabinet yourself. They're actually rate quite illustrious by Consumer Reports Magazine. I just have them installed in my kitchen and they look stunning. A real-estate developer friend of mine who specializes in high-end condos contained by our area singular uses IKEA cabinets within his properties and they look great.
I was lucky to own a contractor who didn't charge me extra for assembling the cabinets so you'll hold to figure that out. If you & your husband are competent to do that part yourselves, you'll liberate a lot of money. If you're paying someone to assemble & install, it may cost smaller number to get higher-end, pre assembled cabinet. Just know that if you choose the IKEA cabinets, be prepared to bring in a dozen trips back & forth because within will always be a piece that you necessitate but didn't know to get. ;-)
Just trademark sure you do your research. You can go to the stores within question near your kitchen dimensions and get a pretty polite ballpark idea of what assorted cabinet combinations will cost. Then decide from within.
